How to choose a weed burner torch for retail
Short answer. A good retail weed burner has enough reach to keep the flame well away from the user's feet (around 700 mm or more), a heat input in the 20 kW class, push-button ignition, a tube that comes apart so the carton stays short, the right cylinder connection for your market, and a certificate that names the model.
How flame weeding works
A weed burner does not need to burn weeds to ash. A few seconds of heat makes the water in the plant cells expand and burst the cell walls; the weed wilts and dies over the following days. That is why customers are happiest with a torch that is easy to walk with and quick to light, not the one with the biggest flame.
Six things to check
Reach
Overall length decides how upright the user can stand and how far the flame stays from shoes. Our GF-8016 is 760 mm long.
Heat input
Heat input, in kW, describes how much gas the torch burns. The CE annex for our GF-8010/8011/8016 series lists 20 kW and 22 kW, with gas consumption of 1482.3 g/h and 1571.1 g/h.
Ignition
Piezo ignition saves the user from holding a lighter near the burner. It is the feature retail buyers ask about most.
Packing length
A one-piece 760 mm torch makes a long, expensive carton. GF-8016's tube comes apart, which shortens the retail box and the master carton.
Cylinder connection
Connections differ by market. Tell your supplier where you sell so the torch matches the cylinders on your shelves.
Certification
For the EU, ask for an EN 521 certificate that names the model. GF-8016 is listed on CE certificate GK 007996 001, valid until 18 January 2028.
Safety lines for your listing
- Check local fire rules before use and never use the torch on dry vegetation in hot or windy weather.
- Keep a water source nearby.
- Let the burner cool before storing it, and disconnect the cylinder after use.
- The torch ships without gas; buy propane locally.
