ABS, nylon and plastic-body torches
Short answer. Engineering plastics such as ABS, reinforced nylon and PVC keep a torch light and impact-resistant and can be molded in almost any color. They suit entry and mid-price ranges and OEM color programs.
Material notes
- ABS: tough, takes color well; used for shells and grips.
- Reinforced nylon: stiff and heat-tolerant; used on GF-8015.
- PVC: used for bases and some shells.
Plastic-body propane torches such as GF-8010 and GF-8011 keep weight near 420 g while handling a 20–22 kW class flame, according to their CE annex.
