EN 521 for gas torches

From the PropaneTorchs sales and engineering team. Updated 2026-10-15.

Short answer. EN 521 is the European standard for portable appliances that run on LPG at vapour pressure, such as handheld butane and propane torches. Our models GF-8010, GF-8011 and GF-8016 (propane) and eleven butane torches are certified against EN 521:2019.

Where EN 521 sits

EN 521 is a harmonised standard under the EU Gas Appliances Regulation (EU) 2016/426. A notified body tests samples against it and issues an EU type-examination certificate.
