How to refill a butane torch
Short answer. Make sure the torch is off and cool, turn it upside down, press the butane canister nozzle straight into the refill valve for 5 to 10 seconds, then wait one to two minutes before lighting.

- Switch off, let the nozzle cool and move away from flames.
- Turn the torch upside down so the refill valve faces up.
- Hold the canister upside down and press its nozzle straight into the valve.
- Stop when gas stops flowing in or a little escapes.
- Wait one to two minutes, then light.
Overfilling and lighting too soon are the most common causes of an uneven flame.
